Wanted
to post something sweet for the special occasion, so here I go with a very yummy Ada pradhaman made out of Ada, I have used a store bought Ada. However
back in home the ada is made at home and
it tastes really so yummy way better than the store bought ada.
Time Taken for this
recipe : 1 hour Serves : 4
Ingredients
Ada – store
bought – 100 gms Jagerry - 200 gms
* Coconut milk – 2nd
extract 1 ½ cup Coconut milk -1st extract –
½ cup Coconut – 2 nos Cashew
nut - 8 nos. Raisins -
10 nos Jeera fried and powdered – ¼ tsp Cardamom – 3
nos crushed Dried ginger –
¼ tsp Ghee - 2 tbsp
*increase or decrease the sweetness depending on your taste.
Extract coconut milk
I used two grated coconut. Just dunk them into a mixie,
add ¼ cup of hot water and grind it.
Pass through a sieve and you get
the 1st extract of ½ cup of milk.
Put back the coconut and add another one cup of water and
grind it. Pass through sieve and you get the 2nd extract of 1 ½ cup
of thin milk.
Method
Boil water in a pan. Wash ada and cook
it in boiling water until it becomes soft. Strain and rinse with cold water to
prevent further cooking.
Meanwhile melt the jaggery in around 1
cups of water and strain it, so that all the impurities are removed.
Heat ghee in an deep pan, fry the
raisins, cashews drain on to a paper
towel.
To the same add the cooked ada and
saute in ghee for 5 minutes adding more ghee if required at medium heat.
Now
take the 3 tbsp of the 1st extract milk and put in the fried jeera mix and keep aside.
Now add
the melted jaggery, cook at medium heat stirring in between. When it
thickens, add the 2nd extract
coconut milk. Reduce the flame and cook until it becomes thick. Now add
the 1st extract coconut milk.
Mix well and add the dry ginger powder,
cardamom and cumin powder mix.
Give it a nice mix, cook for 2 minutes
at low flame and switch off. Garnish with the fried cashews and raisins.
Serve
it hot or chilled J
