Tandoori Chicken Burger

Favorites of many  the JUNK food  which is loved by kids and

equally by the adults. Sometime we can make them healthy by

making with the ingredients  at home and  for a change this

kind of burgers are really  good treat for all.

I have made the mince using my processor and added  all the ingredients and before I added tandoori masala  I kept some plain  aside  so that I could make some plain chicken burger fillets.

You can even use some soya meal to make it more healthy. I have not added here.  I am not a big fan of mayo  nor cheese so I have not added it in my bruger.

Infact I have made all the fillets and have  kept them in the freezer so that I can use them handy when need arises.

For the french fries, I used regular potatoes  and have made them at home, it tastes so nice and crisp.

I picked up some nice sesame burger from the bakery. So lets go ahead and make.

Makes : 6 patties
Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients

Onions finely chopped - 2 nos.
Chicken breasts – 500 gms or minced
Ginger & garlic finely chopped – 1 tbsp
Chillie powder – 1 tbsp
Lime juice – 1 tbsp
Bread crumbs – 3 tbsp
Cumin powder – ½ tsp
Tandoori  masala – 1 tbsp *                                                         Salt to taste                                                                                 Pepper powder – ¼ tsp                                                               Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp                                                           Olive oil – just to drizzle on the grill
*I used Sanjeev Kapoor’s ready made tandoori masala use whatever you have with you.

To dress up

Cucumber, red onions, lettuce leaves, mayo, mustard paste, tomato ketchup, cheese slices, tomato slices for arranging the burger. Add or delete the stuffs you don’t like here to dress the burger.
Instead of using raw onions, I added some onions on the grill, added some soya sauce and let it sit on the heat of the grill and then I  filled it along with the fillets

Method:

Wash the breasts and dunk into the processor and mince it well and keep in a bowl.  Add one by one ingredients like ginger & garlic, chillie powder, lime juice, cumin powder,

tandoori masala, bread crumbs, pepper powder, salt and coriander leaves  and give a good mix and keep aside for 15 minutes.

Take a  golf size of the  mixture and  form into  patties. Drizzle the grill  with olive oil and place the patties on the grill. Keep on low flame and fry both the sides, do not press the patties let it cook on its own both the sides also  do not add add oil at all to cook.  Your juicy burger fillet is ready.

Place the fillet in the burger and dress up  the burger with whatever fillings you love.

French fries

Potatoes  cut into sticks – 2 nos                                                   Salt – to taste                                                                                  Oil for frying

Method

In a vessel  add  4  cups of  water, put some salt and allow the potato cook until its done three fourth.

Strain this and  dry it well on a kitchen towel  so that there is no moisture in it.

Put this in a zip bag and rest this into the freezer for couple of hours.

Now in kadai add  oil and let it heat, when oil is hot add the potatoes and fry until golden.  Don’t heat up the oil too much.

Drain this on a absorbent  paper so that all the extra oil is removed.

Yummy fries are ready to enjoy with the burgers.

You can make small packets of the potato sticks and chill in the freezer, use whenever you need them.

Delicious and yummy meal is ready J
